Oats Halwa




Ingredients:

1 cup Oats
2 spoons sooji
Sugar
cardamom powder
2 spoons ghee
2-3 saffron strands
1 Cup milk/fresh cream
1 to 1.5 cup water
Dry fruits for garnish

Method:

Heat 2 spoons ghee in a pan.Fry dry fruits and keep aside.
In the remaining ghee roast oats till they are slightly brown and have a nice aroma, remove and keep it too cool.
Roast the sooji till light brown and keep it aside.
Soak the saffron strands in 1 spoon warm milk.
In the pan add remaining milk, water and bring to boil.
Add cardamom powder.
Coarsely grind the roasted oats in a mixer.(Do not make complete powder, grind coarsely)
Add the oats powder, sooji to boiling milk and keep stirring.
Add the milk withe saffron, sugar and stir the mixer, till it is completely cooked.
Garnish with dry fruits and serve hot.
